Telangana farmers loan waiver: Is the loan waiver complete, what is the situation of those farmers?
Telangana farmers loan waiver Scheme: It is known that the Telangana loan waiver scheme has been implemented. Money has been deposited in the accounts of farmers in 4 installments. However, many farmers are still waiting for loan waiver. Especially farmers with more than Rs 2 lakh are included in this.
It is known that the Congress government that came to power
in Telangana has scaled down the loan waiver scheme. The government, which took
the most ambitious approach, said that loans up to Rs 2 lakh will be waived.
Accordingly, it identified the eligible ones and deposited money in their
accounts. So far, the money has been released in four installments.
Many farmers have pinned their hopes on the fourth
installment that was recently made. Especially farmers with more than Rs 2 lakh
in this. Family verification has already been completed for all of them. Money
exceeding Rs 2 lakh has also been paid to the banks. However, their loan waiver
money has not been deposited. Problems are coming to the fore in all districts.
On the other hand, CM Revanth Reddy recently clarified that
all loans up to Rs. 2 lakhs have been cleared 100 percent. He said that 100
percent loan waiver has been completed. In the wake of the CM's announcement,
many farmers are confused. They are complaining that they have not been waived
off their loans even though they are eligible.
Despite correcting the details, the Agriculture Department
has actually verified the families of farmers with loans of more than Rs. 2 lakhs.
As there were mistakes in the details, the officials went to the farmers
themselves to resolve them. After recording the details, selfies were also
taken and registered in the mobile app. Although all this happened at the field
level, the names of many farmers did not appear in the newly released lists.
Many farmers are complaining about the same thing. They are contacting the AEOs
and making excuses.
A farmer took a loan of Rs. 2 lakhs from a bank in Marriguda
mandal of Nalgonda district. He got the loan before the cutoff date set by the
government. The interest on this Rs. 2 lakh is more than Rs 12 thousand, while
the total is Rs 2 lakh 12 thousand pending. Apart from Rs 2 lakh, the farmer
has already paid the above 12 thousand rupees in the bank. Family verification
has also been done. Agriculture officials have also collected the details. It
is expected that Rs 2 lakh will be waived.
Recently, the fourth installment of loan waiver funds was
released at the Palamuru Sabha venue. The lists related to this were released
bank-wise. The name of the farmer is not in it. Even though the same matter was
brought to the attention of the Agriculture Department officials, he complained
that there was no response. It seems that there are problems in all the
districts. Loan waiver but farmers… are contacting the AEO offices. However,
even though CM Revanth Reddy said that if there are any other eligible people,
they will be waived, no official orders have been received.
Loan waiver calculations
The government estimated that Rs 30 thousand crores would be
required for complete loan waiver. Along with the CM, many ministers have also
said the same thing on several occasions. However, Rs 26,000 crore was
allocated in the annual budget presented this year.
As part of the farmer loan waiver scheme, the government
waived off the loans of farmers with loans of less than Rs 1 lakh in the first
tranche on July 18. A few days ago, CM Revanth Reddy wrote a letter to Prime
Minister Modi and also mentioned the loan waiver figures. He said that Rs
6,034.97 crore was deposited in the accounts of 11,34412 farmers in the first
tranche. He said that Rs 6,190.01 crore was deposited in the accounts of 640823
farmers in the second tranche. He mentioned that Rs 5,544.24 was deposited in
the accounts of 446832 farmers under the third tranche.
The fourth tranche of loan waiver funds was released at a
meeting held at Palamuru. In this tranche, Rs 2747 crore was released in the
accounts of 3,13897 farmers. Overall, across all tranches, the figures show
that funds of over Rs 20,343 crore have been deposited.
