Telangana Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya: The central government has given good news to Telangana students. The cabinet has approved the establishment of 7 more Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas in the state. Union Minister Kishan Reddy expressed happiness over this decision. He expressed hope that students will get better education.

The central cabinet has approved the establishment of 7 new
Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas in Telangana. After almost 30 years, new Jawahar
Navodaya Vidyalayas are being established in Telangana. Union Minister Kishan
Reddy expressed happiness over the allocation of 7 new ones to Telangana. He
thanked Prime Minister Modi.
New Navodaya Vidyalayas will be set up in Telangana in
Nizamabad, Kothagudem Bhadradri, Jagtial, Medchel Malkajgiri, Mahabubnagar,
Suryapet, Sangareddy. There are already Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas in
Karimnagar, Khammam, Nagarkurnool, Siddipet, Nalgonda, Kamareddy, Ranga Reddy,
Warangal, Kumurambheem and Asifabad.
Almost 30 years ago, two schools were set up in Telangana
region in 1986-87. After that, five were set up in 1987-88, again one in
1991-92, and another in 1993-94. Since then, not a single one has come up till
now. Now seven are coming at once.
4,287 students are studying in 9 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas
in Telangana state. Of these, 2,566 are boys and 1,721 are girls. While 3,684
are rural students, 603 are urban children. There are 449 general, 1,949 OBCs,
1,039 SCs, and 850 STs.
The central government has decided to set up 28 Navodaya
Vidyalayas in 7 states across the country. It is estimated that the cost of
setting them up will be around Rs. 2,359 crores between 2024-29. It is
estimated that Rs. 1,944 crores will be spent on capital expenditure and Rs.
415 crores on school maintenance.
Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas are fully residential schools.
There will be an opportunity to study from class 6 to class 12. Students will
get quality education. Admissions will be made through an entrance exam.
Students from rural areas will have more opportunities. Each school will have
47 people, including teaching and non-teaching staff.
