district. Students fell ill in a government high school in Narayanpet district.
The High Court expressed its anger over this incident. It questioned the
education department officials whether the lives of the students were being
lost. However, the attitude of the staff in government hostels is not changing.
Recently, food poisoning occurred in the Tandur Tribal Girls
Hostel in Vikarabad district on Tuesday (December 10). 16 students fell ill
after eating uncooked khichdi in the morning. They were immediately taken to
the government hospital. According to the parents of the affected students and
locals, while classes 3 to 8 are conducted in the Tandur SC Hostel, students
from 9 to Intermediate are continuing their studies in government educational
institutions in the town. There are currently 160 girls in the hostel,
including all classes. All of them ate khichdi for breakfast in the hostel at 8
am on Tuesday.
However, at 10 am, nine of the students who ate khichdi
developed stomach pain. Due to this, the staff immediately took them to the
district hospital and provided treatment. At 5 pm, seven more students vomited
and suffered from stomach pain. Four of them were taken to the Maternal and
Child Welfare Center. The remaining three were kept in the hostel and given
treatment. Upon learning about the matter at 12 noon, MRO Tara Singh and Mandal
Education Officer Venkataiah went to the hostel and inquired.
Several girls cried in front of them, saying that they were
facing difficulties in the hostel. Officials revealed that they would submit a
report to District Collector Prateek Jain on the incident. They warned that
strict action would be taken against those responsible.
