Telangana Loan Waiver for Farmers |
As part of the Praja Palana Vijayotsavalu (People's
Governance Victory Celebrations), CM Revanth Reddy will visit Mahabubnagar
today. He will participate in the Raitu Pandaga (Farmers’ Festival)
event. Authorities have made extensive arrangements for the event, including a
large public gathering with farmers. During this event, it is expected that the
Chief Minister will make crucial announcements.
CM Revanth's Announcement
The key announcement by the Chief Minister is expected to
focus on the loan waiver for farmers. After the successful completion of three
phases, the fourth phase of the crop loan waiver will benefit another 3 lakh
farmers. These farmers have been waiting for the loan waiver for a long time,
but due to some technical reasons, they were previously excluded. With the
completion of the family verification process, the government is now ready to
include these farmers in the loan waiver scheme.
Recently, Agriculture Minister Tummla Nageshwar Rao
mentioned at the Palamuru Raithanna Sabha that loan waiver funds would
be released. However, an official announcement had not been made until now. The
government has reportedly allocated ₹3,000 crores for the waiver of loans for 3
lakh farmers.
Farmers from all districts are expected to attend the Raithanna
Sabha in large numbers. Extensive arrangements have been made by the
government for this event. Apart from the loan waiver, there may also be
announcements related to the Rythu Bharosa (Farmer Assurance) scheme.
Immediately after the CM's announcement, the loan waiver funds will be directly
deposited into the accounts of eligible farmers.
Congress Government's Loan Waiver Scheme in Telangana
Since coming to power, the Congress government in Telangana
has implemented the ₹2 lakh crop loan waiver scheme. So far, ₹17,869.22 crores
have been waived for 22,22,067 farmers in three phases, with the amounts
directly credited to their accounts. However, due to some technical issues,
many farmers had not received the loan waiver.
In response, the government has collected the required data
and spent three months verifying family details. With this verification process
now completed, the scheme will be extended to those farmers who were previously
excluded. The necessary funds for this have already been prepared. Once the
Chief Minister makes the announcement, the funds will be immediately credited
to the farmers' accounts.
